ENA President Ron Kraus Statement on Emergency Nursing 2021 Safety Plans

August 13, 2021 COVID-19 Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Nursing 2021

ENA President Ron Kraus released the following statement today about safety plans for Emergency Nursing 2021

"Today, ENA announced its health and safety protocols for Emergency Nursing 2021 in Orlando. Most notably, attendees will be required to be vaccinated and wear masks in order to participate in ENA’s annual education and networking event. Full details on safety plans can be found by visiting the Emergency Nursing 2021 safety page on the ENA website.

Without question, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create challenges for emergency nurses, ENA members and our country as a whole. In deciding how to move forward with Emergency Nursing 2021, ENA considered many factors – including federal, state and local COVID-19 guidelines – and has worked closely with the Orange County Convention Center to make the best safety plans possible for EN21.

Just as it has done for the last year and a half, ENA continues to look at the best ways to support its members during the pandemic. Their need for education never stopped, and their desire to be connected and heard has only increased. ENA’s annual conference is an important part of advancing excellence in emergency nursing as it drives professional and clinical skill development through high-quality learning opportunities. With concerns about burnout, mental health and overall well-being as prominent as ever, hundreds of ENA members have registered to be in Orlando to learn, network and reconnect – in a safe environment – as a way to recharge themselves during this most challenging of times.

And, for those who cannot travel, or choose not to, Emergency Nursing 2021’s Hybrid Xperience virtual option remains a great way to engage and learn from wherever you might be.

Over the next several weeks, ENA will remain steadfast in monitoring developments in Florida and around the country to determine what, if any, additional measures are necessary to deliver emergency nursing’s premier event safely."

The Emergency Nurses Association is the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing through advocacy, education, research, innovation, and leadership. Founded in 1970, ENA has proven to be an indispensable resource to the global emergency nursing community. With 50,000 members worldwide, ENA advocates for patient safety, develops industry-leading practice standards and guidelines and guides emergency health care public policy. ENA members have expertise in triage, patient care, disaster preparedness, and all aspects of emergency care. Additional information is available at www.ena.org.
